Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Resumely (the “Service”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use resumely.co. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1) Information we collect

  • Account & contact info: email address and other details you choose to provide (for example, your name).
  • Resume content: information you enter into the editor (such as work history, education, skills, and text you write).
  • Payment & subscription info: purchases and subscription status. Payment details are processed by our payment providers (we do not store full card numbers).
  • Usage data: pages you visit, actions you take, device and browser information, approximate location (derived from IP), and log data for security and debugging.
  • Cookies & similar technologies: used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand usage patterns.

2) How we use your information

  • Provide and operate the Service (create, edit, and export your resume).
  • Authenticate you, prevent fraud, and secure accounts.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions/trials.
  • Improve the Service, fix bugs, and develop new features.
  • Communicate with you (support, transactional messages, important updates).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We may use aggregated or de-identified data (data that cannot reasonably identify you) for analytics and to improve the Service.

3) How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these situations:

  • Service providers: hosting, analytics, email/support tools, and payment processing. They are allowed to use data only to provide services to us.
  • Payments: transactions are handled by third-party processors (for example, LemonSqueezy and, where available, PayPal). They process your payment according to their own policies.
  • Legal & safety: if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business changes: if we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4) Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to enable core features (like login and session security), remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some features may not work properly.

5) Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account information, subject to legal and operational requirements.

6) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7) Your choices and rights

  • Access, update, or correct certain information in your account (where available).
  • Request deletion of your account information by contacting us.
  • Opt out of non-essential emails (you may still receive important transactional messages).

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information. Contact us and we’ll respond as required by applicable law.

8) International data transfers

We may process and store information in countries different from where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws. When we transfer information, we take steps to protect it in line with applicable requirements.

9) Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age where parental consent is required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we’ll take appropriate steps.

10) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date.
